FAQ's

At what age should vaccination begin?

Both dogs and cats should start their vaccination schedule between 6 and 8 weeks of age.

During this period, puppies receive core vaccines that protect against viral diseases such as distemper, parvovirus, infectious hepatitis (canine adenovirus), parainfluenza and leptospirosis.

In kittens, core vaccines protect against panleukopenia, rhinotracheitis, and feline calicivirus.

These vaccines are given in multiple doses, with boosters every 3–4 weeks, ensuring proper protection.

The rabies vaccine is administered from 12 weeks of age, according to current legislation.

At CAS, we recommend that even apparently healthy pets have a check-up at least once a year. These appointments allow us to monitor vaccinations, weight, teeth, coat, ears and behaviour, ensuring your companion stays healthy and comfortable.

Young animals, seniors, or pets with chronic conditions may need more frequent visits.

If you notice any changes in appetite, energy, stools, urination, or behaviour, do not hesitate to bring your pet to the clinic. Regular check-ups are the best way to maintain long-term health and well-being.

Yes. At CAS, tutors/owners are welcome to visit their pets during hospitalisation. To ensure animal welfare and proper clinical routine organisation, we kindly ask that visits are scheduled in advance.

A food transition must be gradual and appropriate to the animal’s age.

In general, puppies and senior pets require a slower transition (around 10 days), while adults usually adapt within 7 days.

Start with 75% of the current food + 25% of the new food, then move to 50/50, followed by 25/75, until reaching 100% of the new diet. (This guideline may vary depending on the clinical condition of the animal.)

At CAS, the fastest and most direct way to book an appointment is by phone. This allows us to offer the most convenient time and prepare everything to welcome your pet safely.

During the call, our team will clarify any questions, recommend the appropriate appointment type and make the booking process simple and efficient for you.

Email or messages are also possible, but a phone call remains the most effective way to confirm the appointment.

Yes, we provide second-opinion consultations daily. We kindly ask that they are scheduled in advance, as this type of assessment tends to be more detailed and time-consuming.

During the consultation, we thoroughly review all tests, analyse full clinical history and previous treatments, ensuring a well-supported and reliable evaluation.

It is essential that your pet comes with all previous test results and medical reports, so we can have a complete understanding of the case

Yes, at CAS, our policy is one of total openness. If you have a plan with any insurer, you can treat your pet with us. Most of our customers have pet insurance, and we encourage them to do so as it is an asset in future health situations.
